"Sanctions are against the government, not citizens." Australia will not prohibit entry to Russian tourists

Australia will not prohibit entering the country to Russian tourists as part of sanctions against Russia because of a full -scale invasion of Ukraine. Australia's defense minister Richard Marles said this, Reuters reports. Marles stated that sanctions were against the government of Russia, not against the Russians themselves. "This is not what we are considering now," he added.

Video of the day, in addition, Marles refused to answer the question whether Australia would provide Ukrainians with more Bushmaster and other protected vehicles after the recent request of Ukraine's ambassador to Australia. "We will seek how we can provide such constant support," he said, calling Australia "one of the greatest states that provide military support to Ukraine outside NATO.
