It is known that these structures are formed when clouds fall into the air flow, disturbed by a high array of land, most often over the ocean. Scientists believe that the violation was caused by a volcanic mountain raster in the north of Guadelupe. Despite the fact that glory and amazing vortices are visible only through layered-boil clouds formed in this part of the Pacific Ocean, scientists say that their appearance is not interconnected at all.

According to the researchers, this is due to the fact that diffrared light is emitted outwards, reflecting back to observation. Thus, in the image, the iridescent strips are cross -sections of one and the same round glory, which was twice scanned with a satellite. As a result, in the photo we see parallel stripes that go on both sides of the satellite trajectory: from left to right the rainbow on the left in the image goes from red to blue, and the rainbow goes from blue to red.
