Ukraine received a total of 32 AS90 artillery systems. Their characteristics, experts say, emphasize the decisive role of advanced artillery in the modern war. Ukrainian fighters recognize that British 155 mm AS90 has a significant advantage in the precision and range of firing compared to artillery systems 2C1 "Carnation" and 2C3 "Acacia" of the Soviet period. Of these, 20 were repaired in the United Kingdom to ensure full combat capability, and the remaining 12 were set to remove and install spare parts on existing machines.

As for the units, at least one Ukrainian of them, namely the 3rd assault brigade, actively uses AS90 artillery systems after studying in the UK. "The characteristics of these artillery systems emphasize the decisive role of advanced artillery in the modern war, especially in a conflict, which is characterized by both ordinary and asymmetric tactics," the observers write.

The self-propelled 155-mm gun, which is capable of shooting standard NATO ammunition, including fugas, smoke and lighting shells.
