"We can produce the necessary UAV": Latvia headed the "Drone Coalition" to help the Armed Forces (video)

During the visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, a decision was made to Riga that Latvia, as a US country, will be engaged in the UAV line within the Memorandum of Military Cooperation. Latvia has taken the role of a leader in a "drone coalition" in order to provide Ukraine with military assistance to combat Russian invaders. This was stated by Edgar Rinkevich at a joint briefing with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday, January 11.

The politician noted that Latvia heads the "unmanned Ramstein" format, and that drones are one of the directions of cooperation within the memorandum of military cooperation, which Ukraine and Latvia will sign within the framework of the Ukrainian leader's visit to Riga. "We see that we have the opportunity to cooperate. We can produce cheaper drones that are very effective and very necessary for the Ukrainian military to succeed," said Edgar Rinkevich.

It should be noted that Latvia has repeatedly helped the Ukrainian military, supplying them with unmanned aircraft. So, in early November 2022, new drones from the partner country received Ukrainian border guards. Then it was about UAV DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise. It is a civilian model designed to shoot, but the military uses it to be reconnaissance from the air and adjustment of fire. We will remind, on January 11 we wrote that it will enter a new package of assistance for Ukraine from Latvia.

According to Latvian President Edgar Rinkevich, Riga will continue to support Kiev to victory over Russia. An additional memorandum of military cooperation was also signed. It should be noted that on January 10, Volodymyr Zelenskyy made an official visit to Lithuania, where President Gitanas Nauseda announced a new package of assistance to Ukraine for 200 million euros.
