Lasted for several days: Polish farmers open the border with Russia (map)

The border blocking from the Russian Federation should last a month, as previously stated by Polish protesters. However, the action lasted only five days. Polish farmers, who declared the border blocking around the perimeter of the country on March 20, decided to cancel it for trucks from the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation. At the same time, they note that the European Union has not yet introduced any restrictions for trade in the grain and gas of the aggressor country.

The details of the situation were told on the portal of Polish Radio. Journalists recalled that farmers, starting on March 20, blocked the road to the Kaliningrad region near the city of Gzhhotki in the Varmina-Mazur Voivodeship. The protesters allowed to pass one truck in an hour. However, the locking is suspended, - the article reads on the portal. The reason for unlock is the Easter holidays, which will be celebrated in Poland on March 31. When the lock recovers is not indicated.

The situation with the turnover between Poland and the Russian Federation was commented on by a representative of the Varmina-Mazur Agricultural Chamber of Jerzy Saliter. The man told what kind of goods they come from the Kaliningrad region: liquefied gas, methane, grain. He also noted that "agrarians are amazed" by the extension of turnover between the EU and the Russian Federation. "The European Union has not yet decided to ban the import of grain from Russia to the European Union.

Despite the fact that countries have condemned the attack on Ukraine, trade from the Russian Federation is constantly ongoing," the journalist of the Saliter's word. The article also noted that Polish activists have previously been set up "more decisive. " According to the previous plans, the border blocking should last for at least a month. It should be noted that on the network you can find an online map of blocking the border and roads, which began on March 20. The map indicates 560 lock points.

Near the Kaliningrad region, one large highway was blocked and there were protests 20 km from the border. You can also see that there were no similar measures at the checkpoint with Belarus. Meanwhile, protests of Polish farmers began in the fall of 2023 and with short breaks continue to this day. On the border with Ukraine, protesters blocked the movement of trucks that exported Ukrainian grain. During one of the shares, the castles were broken and several tons of grain were put to the ground.

A similar situation happened with freight trains: tens of tons of grain were on the open air track. Ukrainian government officials suggested that the Polish government meet at the border, but there was no communication. Instead, Poland explained that they were not satisfied with the quality of Ukrainian grain and other goods, as well as the fact that it competes with Polish grain.

The European Union is underway to resolve the problem that arose from the opening of the border for Ukrainian goods through the invasion of the Russian Federation. In March, Ukrainian journalist Mikhail Tkach visited Poland to show the actions of farmers on the Belarusian border: there, as it turned out, there is no blocking. During the trip, he was detained by police and removed separate video materials.
