Economist Timothy Milovanov draws a

Georgian scenario for Ukraine. As Russia turns the war into "peaceful occupation"

Economist Timothy Milovanov draws a "Georgian scenario" for Ukraine - that is, a scenario of peaceful occupation of the country after the end of the war. He confesses that he does not believe in it - but once did not believe in the beginning of a full -scale invasion . . . The Georgian scenario for Ukraine will look like this.

Some of the political elites, leaders of thoughts, businessmen, or even PRs want the authorities and convince the active minority of society that EU is difficult, long, high demands, taxes, prices, competition, etc. And that has your own separate way. Like in Japan, Korea, Brazil, India, or more known to us Singapore, united emirates, Qatar or Israel. It will be faster and better for everyone. The European Commission, the IMF, the World Bank, G7 are not required.

There is an alternative - fast and successful. Such a person is voted, it is supported by Russian money, of course not through Russia, but through other countries. And everything will get better. But then the political force will prove to be dependent on Russia, the media will begin to promote the idea that it is not so obvious and really - Trump or Harris, or who will be there at the time - to have interests different from Ukrainian.

And society will be ready to look for an alternative to EU accession. Well, you know - the law on foreign agents, the closure of civil society institutions (many will rejoice), the appointment of people who are loyal or dependent on Russia. We already had it. This scenario is hypothetical. And I think it will never be, because it is unrealistic. But I once thought that there would be no war.
