Germany closes in Slovakia the repair base of military equipment for the Armed Forces: what is it connected with

By the end of the year, the military equipment repair center in Slovakia, which restores combat vehicles for the Armed Forces, will be transferred to Germany. The decisions were made due to problems in the organization and operating processes at the Slovak object. Germany has decided to move the Center for Military Engineering Repair from Slovakia for Ukraine, which was opened in December 2022. N-TV informs about it.

Due to the problems that arise in the organization and operating processes on the object in Slovakia, the Bundesver decided to make a "relocation" of the repair center to Germany by December 31. As it is noted, the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Germany emphasized "changing framework conditions" and in some cases extremely complex repair work, which has to be carried out on damaged machines. For example, he said, there were differences in the interpretation of European customs rules.

This probably affected the supply of the necessary spare parts. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense of Germany assured that the repair of the Armed Forces of military equipment remains guaranteed, because repair bases also operate in Lithuania and Ukraine itself.
