Most of the Armed Forces units were able to avoid the environment and get out of the coal - isw

According to analysts, the capture of coal is unlikely to dramatically change the progress of offensive operations of the Russian Federation in the west of Donetsk region, because the Russians will have to maneuver 30 kilometers of open terrain. Russian troops probably seized the coal, but most of the Ukrainian units that were there were able to leave the city and not get into the Russian environment. This is stated in the report of the American Institute of War Study (ISW) for October 1.

"The scale of Ukrainian losses is currently unknown, but widespread reports of the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops indicate that most of the Ukrainian contingent has probably avoided the Russian environment that could lead to greater losses," the report said. Analysts emphasized that it is unclear whether Russian troops will now be able to move further in the near future.

Especially given that the capture of the coal occurred after a number of expensive and unsuccessful Russian storms near this settlement over the past two and a half years.

"The capture of collet is unlikely to dramatically change the course of offensive operations in the West of Donetsk region, mainly because the coal is not a particularly important logistics node, as well as because Russian troops controlled most major roads leading to the coldear before October 1 , which means that Russian troops have already had the opportunity to some extent overlap Ukrainian logistics on this area of the front, " - explained in ISW.

Analysts also noted that the coal is located 30 kilometers south of Russia's major efforts in the direction of Pokrovsk, and therefore the Russian troops will have to maneuver 30 kilometers of open terrain to effectively support offensive operations southeast of Pokrovsk.

In addition, the coal is also located 23 kilometers south of the H-15 highway, which stretches between Donetsk and the border area of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions, so Russian troops will have to move open terrain during the rainy season that is approaching to get to this route.
