Ukraine excluded OTP Bank from the War Sponsor List: Hungary's Foreign Ministry reacted (video)

The Hungarian government wants to guarantee that OTP Bank will no longer get on the list of sponsors of war. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siarto also noted that the Russian Bank unit is still on the NACC sanction list. Hungary believes that Ukraine has taken the right step by excluding OTP Bank from the list of international sponsors of war. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Siarto on September 4, Telex writes.

At a joint press conference with the Viceremer of Moldova Peter Siarto, he was positive about the decision of the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) to cross out OTP Bank from the list of international sponsors of war. Siarto stated that he had invited NAPC representatives to Budapest. The Minister expressed his hope that the parties may agree that OTP Bank would no longer get to the list.

"If there is a encouraging agreement there, of course, we will have to think about what steps will require on our part," the Foreign Minister said. The minister also mentioned that the Russian unit OTP Bank and four Hungarian banks' managers are still on the NAPC sanction list. "We expect that these four OTP leaders and the Russian structure will be expelled from the list of the Ukrainian Anti -Corruption Agency," Siarto said.

We will remind, on September 29 the NAPC suspended the status of five Greek companies engaged in transportation and one Hungarian bank in the list of international sponsors of war. The decisions were made as a result of the NAPC negotiations with representatives of the companies and the authorities of the mentioned countries. A few days later, on October 2, the NAPC stated that the Hungarian Bank OTP Bank was no longer on the International War Sponsors List.
