Russian Su-57 first landed in Iran and stood there a week: what is the reason (video)

To spread: there is a version that the plane could be delayed due to technical problems with the engine. It is not excluded that the Iranian military was checking the characteristics of the machine before the purchase agreement. After participating in the Aero India 2025 Aero India, which took place from February 10 to February 14, the Russian Fifth Generation Su-57 fighter was spotted at Bender-Abbas Air Base in southern Iran.

This is evidenced by the Twz satellite images published by the American edition. The footage depicts the Su-57 and IL-76, located near two Iranian P-3 Orion-patrol aircraft purchased until 1979. There are also several videos from the ground on the network, on which the Su-57 flights. According to satellite shooting, the Russian fighter remained in Iran for at least a week - in the picture from February 21 it is present on the base, but on the frame of February 24 there is no fighter.

In this regard, the Defense Express observers noted that such a long stay of the Su-57 in Iran suggests that it is not just about an advertising demonstration of the aircraft to a potential buyer. The Iranian military may have inspected flight and combat characteristics before the finalization of the procurement agreement. An alternative version, voiced by a number of sources, says that Su-57 could be delayed due to technical problems.

Allegedly, during the second flight, the fighter was forced to land immediately after take -off, and then Russian experts expected to deliver a new engine and replace it. In any case, the analysts continued, the visit of the SU-57 to Iran looks pre-planned. Bender-abbas is a logical point of refueling for flight from Bangalore to Akhtubinsk, whose distance to which is about 5200 km.

However, if the Kremlin really wanted to demonstrate a fighter of the Iranian leadership, it would be more logical to arrange a landing in Tehran for an official presentation or at a remote base for secrecy. Meanwhile, the officially confirmed contract between Russia and Iran remains the supply of Su-35 fighters. Moreover, Tehran was allegedly entitled to the licensed production of these aircraft, which can question Iran's interest in the purchase of the SU-57.
