He appointed commander of Major General of Medical Service Anatoly Kazmirchuk instead of Major General of Medical Service Tatiana Ostashchenko.

According to Zelensky, Ukraine needs a new level of medical support of the Ukrainian military. On November 20, the head of the Defense Ministry press service Illarion Pavliuk stated that now "medical system is not ideal", so changes and transformation are needed. According to him, Kazmirchuk's appointment is a prudent decision, which was made after long consultations and candidates' consideration.

In the media, it was told that during the last year before the work of the command of the medical forces in general and Major General Tatiana Ostashchenko had a number of questions concerning poor quality turnstiles, work of VLK, problems with training and preparation of military physicians, standards and protocols funds received as humanitarian aid.
