"Do not shoot and die": why in the third year of the Great War in the Armed Forces is the problem of training personnel

Combat units complain about the poor training of the mobilized. Once on the battlefield, recruits do not shoot the enemy, and some simply leave positions. The focus understood how to change the negative trend and establish the process of effective training of the military. The training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces) in the third year of a full -scale war have not yet established the process of quality training of recruits.

Commander units in conversation with the Associated Press (AP) explain the departure from the standpoint and loss of territories in eastern Ukraine with this problem. Unprepared mobilized cannot shoot at enemy troops, it is difficult for them to exercise with weapons and coordinate actions with each other. Some of them leave the battlefield, and fear gives rise to panic and chaos, the commander of the battalion of the 47th brigade said.

Such a big problem with training has ensured the loss of many positions in eastern Ukraine. Due to this, the Russian army advanced near the city of Pokrovsk of a critical logistics unit. The loss of the settlement of progress in the Pokrovsky district in July 2024 is the latest example. The units of the 31st brigade left positions, which prompted the 47th Brigade to fight to stabilize the defense line.

A similar scenario unfolded in the village of Reserine in May this year, the authors of the material indicate. "Some people do not want to shoot. They see the enemy in a fire position in the trenches, but do not open fire. When they do not use weapons, they are ineffective. Therefore, our people die," the commander said. Forcibly mobilized CCC Ukrainians are far from the military -hardened in the battles, who came to the front in the first year of a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

Commanders and soldiers of four brigades defending the Pokrovskaya area say AR that there is no minimal level of training. The infantrymen are not able to shoot for purposes and do not know topography. Commanders carry out their own mobilization campaigns to select and train the best fighters. The main problem is the instinct of self -preservation of beginners.

Previously, people could stand to the last and hold the position, and now when there is a slight shelling of fire positions, they retreat, says a soldier from the 110th Brigade of the Armed Forces. "Of course, there are motivated people, but there are very little. The statement about the territorial loss of Ukraine through poor military training is quite primitive.

It is necessary to talk about a complex and multifactorial phenomenon, which includes the provision of units with advanced weapons, emphasizes a military psychologist from the group of engineering of 67th OMB Andriy Kozinchuk. "The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation exceeds us in the number of soldiers, in military equipment and other resources.

Even if Ukrainian recruits are professionally prepared at the US Academy of West Point (the High Federal Military Educational Institution of the US Army, one of the oldest military academies - ed. ) It's from dozens of blows, " - explains the military focus. Western partners, according to Kozinchuk, did not make promises to supply weapons, which will be adequate to the current combat theater. Military centers in Ukraine are now limited in time for quality training.

If you teach all mobilized for six months, the enemy will easily reach Kiev. The problem with the training of army personnel will remain as long as the Armed Forces leadership there are Soviet generals. A radical reform must take place throughout the military system of Ukraine, and while the country is maintained on the Soviet Army reproduced, military expert Oleg Zhdanov said in a conversation with focus. Exceptions to the rules are several crews, which operate according to NATO standards.

The process of updating the Armed Forces is not yet beyond these units. "Soviet routine stretches in the army. Hence, we have the methods of work of the Criminal Code. The troops are obliged to carry out the primary professional selection, but they are engaged in completely different things," the analyst shares evaluations. Ukrainian military crews working on NATO standards were the first to introduce recruiting.

The military is preparing experts for themselves: recruitment comes voluntarily, signs a contract and is taught in the chosen specialty. However, recruiting will not provide all mobilization needs. The preparation of the Ukrainian army in large training centers remains an important element of combat coordination. "By the way, their commander is responsible for the land preparation system. From August 5, 2019 to February 8, 2024, this position was occupied by Alexander Sirsky.

Here he reaps the fruits of his professional activity," Zhdanov notes. According to Andriy Kozynchuk, the motivation of personnel is now lower than at the beginning of the Russian invasion. As a rule, it is caught by the shopping mud of men on the streets. There is no desire to serve in them, the emotion of fear outweighs the mind. The military psychologist considers it necessary to obtain basic frontal skills before entering the army.

All conscripts of Ukraine should take a course of tactical medicine and increase their physical endurance. Elementary exercise will be a day at least 12,000 steps without weight. "Even if I do not mobilize such a man, it will be good for his health," he summed up. Recall that recently Ukrainian company U-Force has shown advanced systems of laser simulators Miles needed in the process of training of the military.
