The mortar system from Finnish weapons is intended to increase the fire strength...

US Army showed the capabilities of 120 mm tower mortar system Patria NEMO (video)

The mortar system from Finnish weapons is intended to increase the fire strength of armored and Stryker brigade combat groups of the US Army, providing them with the possibility of rapid and accurate firing indirect and direct guidance. The US military in Fort Muri, Georgia, on September 10 demonstrated the performance of fire tasks using mortar ammunition and tower mortar system Patria NEMO 120 mm, installed on an armored multi-purpose machine (AMPV) and integrated with a fire control system.

About it reports the Defense Industry Europe. Short shooting was the result of the cooperation of the US Army and the Finnish defense company Patria. "We are glad to see the results of our successful cooperation with the US Army and our partners. Given the global interest in Patria NEMO, we are ready for further discussions with the United States and plan to start supplying this system to US troops. ", - said the representative of the company Janne Rakkelinenen.

The US Army seeks to enhance the fire strength of its armored and Stryker brigade combat groups, providing them with the possibility of rapid and accurate firing indirect and direct guidance. At the same time, special attention is paid to the protection of the crew and reducing its physical activity, as well as reducing pulse noise effects and excess pressure of the explosion.

Patria NEMO is a remotely controlled 120-mm mortar system capable of fire both direct and indirect guidance, in particular in motion. The system can perform firing tasks with simultaneous contact of up to six shells (MRSI), which significantly increases its efficiency. Patria NEMO has high protection, lightness and compactness, which allows it to be installed on different types of armored vehicles and military vessels.
