Ukrainian LOOPARD tanks are receiving a new level of protection through the development of steel screens from the Rinat Akhmetov steel front. They are made by Metinvest in its classified industries, reports Liga. net. The screens are intended to protect military equipment and the lives of fighters from FPV-auctions, which remain a great threat to the battlefield. The cost of the structure is about $ 20,000, but it is only 0. 3% of the cost of the LEOPARD Tank, which costs about $ 6 million.

In addition, the Armed Forces receives these steel screens for free. Unlike Russian "makeshift" protection, Ukrainian screens provide protection without loss of maneuvers and combat efficiency of equipment. "The priority of the screens is to protect the equipment without any restrictions in functionality, safety for crew or maneuverability. Therefore, the screens are created in such a way as not to influence the functional component.

Otherwise, their use would be unjustified and superfluous," - said the Group Operational Director Metinvest Alexander Mironenko. These designs are already used on Soviet tanks T-72, Ukrainian T-64 and American M1 Abrams, as well as BMP Bradly. The screens are installed on its own repair bases of the Armed Forces, and then, equipped with additional protection, the machines go to zero. For the installation of one screen, a team of 10-12 people takes about 12 hours.

"The guys note that the survivability of the equipment increases by 30-40%. We have real cases where the equipment was stopped on the battlefield, but thanks to our screen, the crew remained alive and unharmed. The military was able to get out and the car was subsequently taken away for recovery,"-adds Mironenko .
