The Russian Federation is developing a new managed 9M134 missile for the anti -tank complex "Cornet"

New purtus is able to hit targets up to 3. 5 km and is designed to destroy various light -hearted equipment. The ammunition has little weight, which allows you to increase the ammunition. Russian anti -tank systems are preparing for a significant upgrade due to the development of a new type of lightweight guided missiles (PTKR) 9M134 Bulat. The Tula Design Bureau (KBP), which is included in the Holding "High -Aprising Systems" is being developed.

This was reported on September 10 by ARMY RECOGNITS with reference to Russian sources. The new rocket aims to expand the capabilities of anti -tank complexes, offering improved mobility and flexibility of PTRC calculations. One of the main characteristics of the Bulat missile is its small weight, which is four times smaller than the Cornet family missiles.

This mass makes it possible to significantly increase the number of ammunition that can be carried by a unit, which significantly increases mobility and efficiency in the field. This is important for anti -tank groups that require a high speed of response to a variable on the battlefield. Despite its compact size, the observers say, the rocket has significant combat capabilities.

9M134 is intended for the destruction of infantry fighting vehicles, armored vehicles, unnecessary equipment and other lightly armored targets, including equipment equipped with dynamic protection. The rocket is capable of hitting targets up to 3. 5 km, which gives it a fairly large radius of action to combat the targets at medium distances. It is equipped with a tandem warhead whose punching is 250 mm, regardless of the availability of dynamic protection on the enemy's technique.

Rocket management is carried out using a quiet laser -based guide system, providing high accuracy of the lesion. According to Defense Express observers, the new Russian rocket is comparable to the Ukrainian PTRC "Korsar", which is also focused on the defeat of less protected goals. The Ukrainian RK-3K rocket to Korsara also weighs much less than the RC-2C rocket to a more powerful Stugna system. However, Russia went further, reducing the weight of the missile 9M134 to 6.

2 kg in the container and reducing the caliber to 82 mm. Despite the lower armored, 250 mm versus 550 mm in LCD-3K), it makes 9m134 more mobile and more adapted to modern conditions. Although the exact stage of development of the 9M134 missile has not yet been disclosed, its presentation at the Army-2024 forum demonstrates the serious intentions of the Russian Federation in the development of innovative anti-tank defense technologies.

At the same time, the creation of a light 9M134 rocket can be considered as an attempt to adapt an existing and widespread Cornet system to modern requirements. "It is quite possible to expect that the lobby" Rostech "is enough to fit a new rocket to production and start supplying it to Russian troops," the Ukrainian observers summed up.
