The government of the country reported that two terrorists had committed a terrorist attack - one of them died during an explosion, the other was detained by security forces. About it reports the TV channel "Al-Arabia". According to the media, the explosion struck near the buildings of parliament and the ministry, and the television companies showed footage scattered on the surrounding street of the wreckage.
After the explosion near the ministry building located near the center of the Turkish capital, soldiers, ambulances, fire trucks and armored vehicles gathered. It became known that two people participated in the terrorist attack, one of them undermined themselves, the other resisted the security forces, which causes a shootout. As a result, the terrorist was disposed of.
At the scene, the police found two boxes with explosives in the trunk, after which the security forces began to slow down the radio to avoid their remote blast. Based on the words of Turkish Interior Minister Ali Erlikai, two law enforcement officials were injured in the incident, but nothing threatens their life.
"Treatment of our heroic police Alim Demirel and Erkan Karatash, who was injured as a result of an attempt by a treacherous terrorist attack in front of the entrance gate of the Main Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is ongoing," Erlicai wrote on Twitter. According to him, two terrorists pulled on a light car at the entrance gate of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and carried out an explosion.
Meanwhile, it is not yet known what movements the militants belonged to and what the goals were pursued by terrorists. Turkish police only said the security forces would conduct a number of controlled explosions of suspicious packages that were found in different areas of Ankara.
TV channel journalists say that on October 1 at 19:30 Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was to be present at the opening of Parliament, which should consider the ratification of Sweden for joining NATO in the next weeks after the initial objections of the Turkish side. It was also noted that such an event happened almost a year ago when six people were killed and 81 were injured as a result of an explosion on a busy pedestrian street in the center of Istanbul.
