According to Rheinmetall plans, up to 400 tank units will be able to produce a year. CEO of corporation Armin Papperger believes that Ukraine will be able to defend itself. The German concern Rheinmetall intends to produce tanks, air defense and shells in Ukraine. This was announced at a press conference at Dusseldorf, RheinMetall CEO, Armin Papperger, informs Handelsblatt on May 9. He noted that the relevant arms production initiatives are gaining real results directly in Ukraine.

According to him, there is also an update for a new top -up Panther project. The German armory concern is trying to conclude a series of agreement on the creation of joint ventures with Ukrainian companies. It may happen in the coming weeks. Cooperation will apply to joint ventures in the field of road systems, air defense and ammunition.

The RheinMetall CEO stressed that this assistance to Ukraine is designed for medium -term and long -term prospect that it is possible to protect itself on its own. Investments in future plants will come from the Ukrainian state. As an example, he called the plan for the production of the main combat tanks in Ukraine. According to Rheinmetall plans, up to 400 tank units will be able to produce a year.

Recall that Handelsblatt on May 5 reported that Rheinmetall promises to produce up to 600 thousand shells a year for Ukrainian troops. The initiative envisages the provision of shells, as Ukraine may be left without a large number of ammunition due to intense fights. The statement of the head of the corporation was made at a meeting with the EU commissioner from industry by Tierry Breton.

The European Commissioner went to the RheinMetall plant, which is located in Unterlyus to discuss further support of Ukraine. Subsequently, Papperger made a corresponding statement for the supply of a large number of ammunition to Ukraine. Also on March 15, the CEO RheinMetall denied his statement of Skynex. The report that there are already two such complexes in Ukraine have not been confirmed.
