Bayraktar Mystery: Experts revealed whether you can seize control of a military drone

According to the military, there was no case of intercepting the Turkish Bayraktar TB2, but the Russians are constantly studying and improving their technologies of the IEC. On the evening of May 4, Ukrainian troops knocked down their own Bayraktar TB2 drone, which, according to the official version, lost its management. The BBC's publication decided to understand whether Russia could intercept control over it.

According to the Armed Forces Command, on Thursday Bayraktar TB2 lost control during a planned flight over Kiev. The military decided to knock down the drone to prevent dangerous consequences. The reasons for the failure in the drone control system remain a mystery, although the aircraft assured that there was no interception.

Experts and operators of drones from the Armed Forces have told the Air Force that it is possible to break the drone, although it is very difficult, especially when it comes to the military model. According to Taras Chmut, the military analyst and the head of the Foundation, Iran has intercepted and landed US military drones in the past, I may use Russian technologies. At that time, the aircraft were much easier to arrange, and later they were significantly improved, which complicated their evil.

The Chairman of the Information Security and Cyber Security Council, Hellenic Sch, Tabakova added that the easiest way to capture control over civilian drones, such as Mavic or Matrice, which are actively used in the war in Ukraine. At the beginning of the war, the invaders often intercepted the control channels of such UAVs to find out about its location, takeoff place and coordinates of the remote. "There have been many cases when the operator arrived, not even a drone," she said.

Since then, the Ukrainian military has learned to use civilian drones, but they all remain vulnerable to the enemy due to simple encryption. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with the help of radio electronic wrestling can intercept signals, track the connection with the operator, "silence" it, or even connect it to their panels.

"There are five to six types of attacks up to the fact that by manipulating GPS signal, they make the impression that the drone flies at a speed not peculiar to him. He thinks that he flies up his feet, turns off the engines and falls," one of the Ukrainian servicemen. Military drones are protected from HRs much better, albeit perfect. The military told the Air Force that they heard about cases of forced landing of drones, but not intercepting management.

None of the media interlocutors have still encountered control of the Turkish Bayraktar TB2. The war continues, and both sides will improve their technologies. One of the experts noted that Ukrainian engineers are studying the whipped Russian UAV "Orlan" to find out how they are arranged and how they can be influenced - the Russians do the same.

According to Hellenna Krnyko-Tabakova, since 2014, Ukraine has purchased equipment from manufacturers from the United States, so in general the connection of the Drones of the Armed Forces is better and more modern than in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Earlier, the speaker of the Air Force Yuri Ignat commented on the destruction of Bayraktar over Kiev. He noted that the technique could fail, and this time the Armed Forces did not have other options other than attack the drone.
