According to the regulator, a year ago there were 239 thousand unemployed in Ukraine. During the year, the number of unemployed people receiving unemployment benefits decreased from 194.

Earlier, the head of the analysis of the real and fiscal sectors of the Department of Monetary Policy and Economic Analysis of the NBU Natalia Kolesnichenko, said that the number of employed citizens is increasing in Ukraine. This happens due to increasing economic activity and increasing demand for labor.

But the reduction of unemployment is slow: according to the National Bank, its level will be 19. 1%. "The indicators are still exceeding the level that was before the full -scale war and will remain high for a long time," she said. The NBU representative also added that the labor market is being restored from the crisis provoked by the war, but these processes are slowly. The regulator predicts that disproportions, characteristic of the labor market, are deepened due to the consequences of war.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danilo Getmantsev reported on November 20 that the salary of Ukrainians in the first half of 2023 was at the level of UAH 16. 3 thousand. "The average salary in Ukraine in the first quarter of 2023 was 15 436 hryvnias, in the second - 17 176 hryvnias. Thus, the average salary in the first half of 2023 reached 16 306 UAH," he said.
