President: We need enough weapons rather than support in negotiations

Since the July Summit of the European Political Community (EPS), a significant escalation of the war on the part of Russia has taken place - the involvement of North Korean troops. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated this during a speech at the fifth Summit of the EPS in Budapest. The head of state emphasized that the concept of "peace through power" has repeatedly proved its realism and efficiency, and now it is needed again.

The President thanked all those present in the hall for the support of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, as well as for defending the right of our country to use funds from Russian assets to protect against Russian aggression. “We are not defending ourselves from Russian words, but from Russian attacks. Therefore, we need enough weapons, not support in negotiations. Hugs with Putin will not help. Some of the leaders have been embraced with him for 20 years, and everything is getting worse.

He thinks only about wars and will not change. Only pressure can be restrained, ”he said. Volodymyr Zelensky called on the leaders of the countries to push Russia to just peace, find a mechanism for Russian assets to start working in Ukraine as soon as possible, and limit the ability of the aggressor state to earn profits from oil sales and its ability to circumvent sanctions. “The account for this war should be exposed to Russians, not Ukraine.

In order for Russia to no longer make its fake claims to all around - from the Baltic countries to the Balkans. Any country, any leader who respects international law and sits at this table, must understand that predators always require more and more prey, ”the President emphasized. On Thursday in Budapest (Hungary) there is the fifth summit of the European political community, which was founded in 2022 after the start of a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine.
