Russia recruits to the war with Ukraine illegal migrants - the media

According to journalists, the Russian authorities invite migrants to participate in the war against Ukraine in return for the right to stay in the Russian Federation. Russia recruits to the war against Ukraine illegal migrants with overdue Russian visas. In particular, it is about those migrants who were detained on the border with Finland after closing the checkpoints. About it reports BBC News.

According to the newspaper, since November 16, the Karelia courts have made 236 decisions on violation of migration laws. One of these detainees is a resident of Somali, who fled the country because of the attack of Islamists. He flew to Russia this year in the summer visa. Having visited Moscow for a few days, he decided to cross the border with Poland through Belarus to get to his pregnant wife in Germany.

He did not work out to Poland, so after a while the man returned to Moscow, but with an overdue visa. The migrant has addressed Russian human rights activists several times to obtain asylum in Russia. In November, he decided to leave Russia through Finland and in the city of Lakhdenpokhia in the Republic of Karelius with other migrants, border guards detained him. A few days later, illegal migrants were offered to work a year "for the state", in exchange for the right to stay in Russia.

12 foreigners agreed to such conditions, of whom six are Somalia citizens, five Arabs and one Cuban. The publication writes that they were then taken south to a camp near the border with Ukraine. There, migrants refused to "work for the state", after which they began to intimidate. However, on December 4, foreigners were told that they would be returned back to temporary detention centers and the procedure for expulsion from Russia.

It should be noted that Russia systematically recruits foreigners and convicted persons for war against Ukraine. Yes, one of these persons became Nepal's citizens. This situation does not suit Katmanda government and asks Moscow not to use foreigners to participate in war. In addition, it is known that 6 such mercenaries were already killed, and another was captured. In total, about 150-200 Nepalese participates in hostilities against Ukraine.

Meanwhile, at the end of November, the Russian Federation had brought more than 100,000 migrants from Central Asia at the end of November. It was reported that most migrants are now employed in the construction sphere, but in the future they are planned to be offered, in exchange for citizenship, joining the Russian army. Journalists also write that Russia is sending to fight against Ukraine prisoners.

Since the beginning of last year, the Russian authorities have been able to recruit more than 100,000 such people. We will remind, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree that envisages an increase in the number of Russian army by 170 thousand people. The reason for this decision in the Russian Defense Ministry called the rise in threat to the country. Also at the end of November, Russian journalists reported that the occupiers were paying bribes to avoid participating in the assault.
