"Painful theme": Does Russia overtake the production of drones of Ukraine - Forbes (photo)

The Russian Federation produces more UAVs than any other country, with the exception of Ukraine, but the quality of many Russian drones leaves much to be desired, says Analytist Samuel Bendett. There are more than 200 companies in Ukraine that supply drones with the support of non -profit and volunteer groups. At the same time, the Russian Federation moved slower in this direction due to rigid centralization, but has large resources and already produces 100,000 copters per month.

Advisor to the production of UAVs in Russia was told by the Advisor of the Analytical Centers of CNA and CNAS Samuel Bendett by Forbes. According to the military, during the war, most of the Russian military began to perceive drones as a key asset. At the same time, some commanders of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are still not aware of the values of UAV and sometimes resist the use of such technologies at a tactical level.

According to Samuel Bendett, this resistance has slowed the purchase of small copters, so most tactical UAVs are received from volunteer organizations that buy them in China or collect them from Chinese components. At the same time, volunteers claim that they supply drones to the military "despite and contrary to" the participation of the authorities and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Many drones collect the soldiers themselves directly on the front.

"That is why there is such a difference in the quality and number of drones in Russian advanced parts," the expert said. Samuel Bendett also mentioned the group "Sudoplatov Battalion"-the largest Russian manufacturer of FPV-goals of VT-40, which managed to establish relations with the Ministry of Defense and become the official supplier of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Financing and terms of contracts are kept secret, but the expert believes that the company is an actual monopolist.

"Sudoplatov is a painful topic for many Russian developers of drones and volunteers," Samuel Bendett emphasized. According to the expert, many Russian enthusiasts, which have the best products, are openly indignant at the monopoly of "Sudoplatov Battalion", considering a decentralized Ukrainian approach a smarter solution.

The particular claim is that Ukrainians have learned to stumble VT-40, but the manufacturer did not change the technical task and UAVs, as before, work at the same frequency specified by the manufacturer. "Judging by the Russian state media reports, such as TASS and RIA Novosti, more attention is paid to many other drones of drones such as Ghoul, Joker, Piranha, Gortenzia and others," Samuel Bendett added.

The publication states that there are many enthusiasts in the Russian Federation, which produce many UAVs. Samuel Bendett believes that Russia's overall efforts to develop and produce small drones are larger than in Ukraine. The expert noted the poor quality and lack of standardization of the assembly of Russian drones. He pointed to interesting statistics: 50% of Russian drones are confused by Russian muffling systems.

In addition, the Russians complained that a third of the UAV "Sudoplatov" did not even take off. The analyst also quoted Russian journalist Alexei Chadayev, who named the Russian operator, who launched 30-40 FPV-ducts a day without a single hit, "a completely typical story on the front. " At the same time, Ukrainian FPV operators indicate a percentage of hits in 20-50% or more.

"The Russians themselves also note the much better organization of Ukrainian units of drones, as well as the best Ukrainian tactics and concepts of use of drones, especially including a group combination of heavy and light drones," says Samuel Bendett. Summing up, the authors of the article noted that the production of military quadcopters in the Russian Federation increased from scratch to 100,000 per month or even more. This is more than in any other country except Ukraine.

Social networks allow the Russians to analyze the disadvantages of technology and share experiences with each other. In addition, the Government and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation are already trying to use the community of enthusiasts to obtain ready -made technological solutions. "The Russians may learn slowly. But the longer the war lasts, the more they have the chances of learning and using their large production facilities," - summed up in the publication.
