The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation applied ShahED with DGPS navigation block: what is the feature of such UAVs (photo)

The DGPS navigation system can be dual use. Its work requires the use of two receivers - stationary and mobile, experts told. The Russian military began to equip unmanned aerial vehicles of the Shahd-136 with a DGPS navigation unit. This was reported by Defense Express experts. Analysts to get photos of a whipped Russian drone, which was equipped with a video camera and modem. In addition, the pictures showed the elements of the onboard electronics of enemy UAV.

It is a block of equipment with rubbed factory marks. However, the felt tip was applied by DGPS and some combination of numbers. Experts believe that the enemy could start putting blocks of DGPS navigation equipment or differentiated GPS, which can theoretically increase the accuracy of Shahd. DGPS is a differential global positioning system, it provides increased accuracy of the location. Such navigation systems can be dual use.

In particular, they can also be used for civilian equipment, agrotechnics for accurate land cultivation. DGPS requires the use of two receivers, one of which is stationary and is at a point with known coordinates, while the other is mobile.

The data obtained by the base receiver goes to correction of other data collected by the mobile apparatus "If our assumptions about the use of P*DGPS schis are true, it is not quite clear at the moment, for which the Russians on one of their" shamed "have put a modem and video camera which can also serve to clarify the place of stay of the aircraft, " - the message reads.

Defense Express explained that the DGPS block and a modem with camera are a component of one control circuit, whereas modem with camera and DGPS block duplicate each other. The ADC-PLS-002 marking unit was not previously mentioned in electronics analyzes on ShahED-136. Analysts suggest that it could be intended to collect UAV speed data, while one of the drones can be supplied to the Pito tube built into Shahd's wing.
