The US Department of Commerce reported that Nicaragua's human rights violations, as well as deepening the country's ties with Russia. Strict rules for export of American goods were also introduced. The United States banned the export of weapons and military equipment to Nicaragua. This country has recently deepened its relations with the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of security. This was reported by the Reuters news agency.

It is noted that on Thursday on March 14, the US State Department reported that President's administration Joe Baiden is concerned about the "brutal repression" of Nicaragua's government against his people. It was decided to limit the supply of weapons to this country.

"The United States will continue to use all available diplomatic and economic instruments to ensure the responsibility of Ortega-Murile, the support of human rights and fundamental freedoms of the Nicaraguan, as they seek a fairer and prosperous future," the State Department said.

It is also reported that the US Department of Commerce has introduced strict rules for the export of US goods to Nicaragua, referring to the government's violations of human rights against citizens, as well as deepening military ties and government ties with Russia. On February 3, 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that the Russian delegation from the occupied Crimea made a visit to Nicaragua.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine submitted a note of the protest to the government. "The visit of the delegation of representatives of occupation administrations to Nicaragua took place on January 23, 2024-in order to sign agreements on trade and economic cooperation, as well as about the brotherhood between the temporarily occupied Yalta and the Grannad," the statement reads.
