Fundamental differences: Russian Su-57 fighter jets cannot resist F-16-expert

According to the military-political observer Alexander Kovalenko, the F-16 is a light fighter, whereas Su-57 is heavy and does not meet the parameters of the fifth-generation fighter. Russian Su-57 fighter jets cannot resist the F-16 because of the fundamental differences between two aircraft. Alexander Kovalenko, Channel 24, told about it, commenting on the material of Russian political scientist Dmitry Sims from The National Interest.

Kovalenko pointed to some important differences between these aircraft. Comparing Su-57 and F-16, he said, does not make much sense, since these are completely different types of aircraft. He stressed that the F-16 is a light fighter, while Su-57 is heavy. Kovalenko also expressed doubts about the use of the SU-57 against the F-16, noting that it is "nonsense" and that it does not make sense to compare these planes by parameters.

"If this gentleman Sims would at least one tenth percent would be a professional, I would not make such statements. Why? After all, it is pointless to compare the parameters of the Su-57 and F-16," Kovalenko said. Kovalenko also pointed out that Russia has not used SU-57 in Ukraine's airspace, and in his opinion, this is due to the fact that these planes do not meet the characteristics and standards of fifth generation fighters.

Instead, he noted that Su-57 is rather a project that does not meet the requirements of the fifth generation, rather than 4 ++. Kovalenko also emphasized that the F-16 was developed taking into account the concept of enemy lesions before he detects the aircraft using long-range means of the defeat, while the SU-57 has limited opportunities in detection of F-16.

He concluded that the SU-57 has no advantage over the F-16 in the context of rocket weapons, and that Russian intelligence planes such as A-50 can provide support for the SU-57. However, Kovalenko also noted that Su-57 has not appeared in the airspace over the last two years, and the creators of the aircraft are well aware of its capabilities.

On December 3, the American conservative edition of The National Interest published an article stating that Russia, as soon as the F-16 fighter jets in Ukraine, could apply its Su-57 against them. According to journalists, during hostilities against Ukraine, Moscow has not used the fifth generation of Su-57 to date. However, the Kremlin has already declared the readiness of these aircraft for use.

The publication noted that the SU-57 was created in the early 2000s, although its concept arose even earlier. It is presented as an invisible fighter and received a Felon (criminal) in NATO. According to the Royal Institute of Joint Services for 2020, Felon is described as a potential invisible aircraft that is not yet a reliable advanced weapon system.
