How to save health during the war: Tips in wartime

Due to terrible events in Ukraine, many people try to understand how to help themselves during the war. And it is not only about the psychological but also the physical state of the body. The focus understood how to properly monitor your health when there is a war. News from the front, reports of explosions in different cities, the threat of nuclear danger and daily risks to life can not but affect the mental and physical condition of Ukrainians.

Those who have gone abroad and are far from hostilities are also worried about the events that occur in the country, take care of their relatives and relatives, and therefore prone to the same stress as those who remain in Ukraine. Therefore, exacerbation of diseases in wartime is what most of our fellow citizens face. Caring for itself during the war should be a mandatory point in the face of our new reality.

However, not all people are able to understand how to properly monitor their health in wartime. Focus has collected expert recommendations on this topic. On July 1, Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko warned that psycho -emotional stress due to hostilities accelerated the aging of the population of Ukraine. According to him, the flow of information that Ukrainians receive every day, has a bad effect on the condition of people, causing certain physical processes in the body.

"According to preliminary calculations and studies conducted by leading scientists, such a long influence on a person's psycho-emotional state leads to the fact that he is biologically aged 10-15 years earlier," Lyashko commented. Due to military events, 40-year-old Ukrainians can deal with diseases that are usually treated by people at the age of 60.

The head of the Ministry of Health predicted that a year or two in Ukraine will be a serious increase in cancer and cardiovascular disease, including heart attacks and strokes, which are so widespread in our country.

The National Health Service of Ukraine (NSAU) gave a list of recommendations on how to properly monitor their health in wartime: in the NSAU, they emphasize: to restore health is much more difficult and costs more, so it is better to take care of the condition of the body in advance and prevent negative consequences.

If in the first months of the war stress was obvious, and all Ukrainians seemed to experience similar psychological loads, then nine months after a full -scale invasion, these problems may not be as visible. However, this does not mean that they are not. One of the main recommendations for maintaining a stable mental state is to get information from the Internet.

It is clear that in the conditions of war, it will not work without reading news, but for this it is possible to allocate some time during the day. Experts suggest limiting one hour a day - for example, 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. This will be enough to stay up to date on all current events, but at the same time not to overload your brain with excessive information about all the movement of troops, potential threats and comments about certain info.

Another important advice is the ability to say no. If you are in a circle of friends who start discussing traumatic news for you, you can always report it and ask not to continue the conversation. Psychology Oksana Sidut recommends that Ukrainians do not be ashamed to seek specialists for help. In fact, in war, it can be difficult for people to cope with stress and emotional swings.

In this case, a psychotherapist can prescribe drug support - it stabilizes the condition and will allow to normalize sleep. In addition, free consultations of psychologists can now be found in Ukraine. It is an effective mechanism for those who need to speak, share their pain and experiences. Those who do not want to meet a psychologist personally can call the hotline of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine at 0 800 211 444.

This service makes it possible to consult with a specialist remotely and anonymously. The line operates from 9am to 6pm on working days and from 10:00 to 17:00 on weekends. Another recommendation to protect the emotional state is to find an interesting thing that you can do. It can be both sports and completely different: domestic plants, knitting or puzzle. The main thing is to distract from news and unload your head from negative thoughts.

It is necessary to focus on something positive, not on a single action, but a delight that can be included in a daily routine. Doctor Yevgeny Komarovsky, for his part, warns: do not seek rest in alcohol. Instead, it is better to load yourself with physical activity. First, it is good to maintain the body in tone. And secondly, it allows the psyche to cope with stress.
