"Scorpions" Ready for battle: Turkish weapons rolled a new version of Akrep II armored vehicle

The Turkish APC received the Cockerill LCTS 90MP tower with 90mm gun. This enhances the intelligence and combat capabilities of the machine when performing complex operations. Otokar presented a new version of Akrep II (Scorpio) at Turkey's defense exhibition in Turkey. The main feature of this modification was the integration of an advanced tower from the Belgian manufacturer John Cockerill, which greatly expands the combat and intelligence capabilities of the machine.

This is stated in the manufacturer's prespiration. The Cockerill LCTS 90MP tower installed on Scorpio is widely used in the Armed Forces of different countries, and there are currently more than 300 such systems in operation. It is able to carry an automatic gun up to 90 mm caliber, which is intended for the use of various types of ammunition, including fragmental-figs, and effective against armored vehicles.

The cannon provides accurate firing at small and even long distances, and the minimal output increases the stability of the machine during fire. It is noted that Akrep II is a universal armored car designed to perform intelligence and combat missions in difficult conditions. The main characteristics: AKREP II armored vehicles are equipped with many modern technologies that make it an effective remedy in combat.

For example, the armored car is equipped with a Drive-by-Wire control system that controls steering, acceleration and slowdown. This makes it possible to control the machine or integrate the help systems to the driver and autonomous functions, increasing efficiency and safety in combat. Akrep II is also characterized by a reduced silhouette and high mine protection, which increases its survival on the battlefield.
