The essence of the approach is extremely simple: the helicopter has the calculation of FPV-oules, which starts them directly from the open doors of the helicopter. The drone operators then attack the target. "Despite the simplicity of the solution, it is really a new tactic that allows you to significantly reduce or generally offset the threat of the use of surface anti-aircraft drones with R-73 missiles on Magura V5," the publication reads.
The fact is that the FPV-aroma range in the absence of HRB and obstacles in the form of relief, as well as by placing the antenna at a height can easily be 20-30 km. R-73 start-up from zero height-up to 12 km. The sea waves complicate the task of capturing a goal in the form of a hostile helicopter with infrared head of self -esteem. This approach even relieves a hypothetical threat, the defense expression analysts are considered and indicates the next development of technological solutions.
"Rockets on Ukrainian sea drones appeared because the enemy began to hunt them from helicopters, shooting drones from onboard or personal small arms. Such tactics were noticed in December 2023," the authors of the publication said. From Ukraine, new means of counteraction are needed. And one of the most obvious is the installation of the relevant remedies on the sea drones.
