Currently, all 6 power units are in a stopped state, but the Zaporizhzhia NPP receives electricity from the power system of Ukraine. Electricity is needed for safety systems, including those that provide residual heat removal from nuclear fuel. According to the state inspector, now the Russians are used as a military base, in particular, there are repairing military equipment.
"As a result of the occupation, there was a significant degradation of nuclear and radiation safety at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant. Finding Russian military, weapons, explosives, military equipment at the ZPP has nothing to do with nuclear and radiation safety. Already there are also military equipment, ”Korikov added.
