Wholesale, inexpensively: in the Russian Federation massively opens shops selling Starlink terminals for the army

For six months in Russia, three times more stores selling Starlink equipment. The dealers bring terminals from the US and the UAE, and then they find themselves in the hands of the Russian military in Ukraine. In Russia, it was more active in selling terminals to connect to the Starlink Satellite Internet, although it does not work in the aggressor country. However, such systems are needed by the Russian Federation for fighting in the territory of Ukraine, reports the Russian site Comnews.

According to media reports, the number of online stores selling and connecting Starlink plates has tripled. Previously, there were 10 of them, now the journalists have counted about 30. The publication also emphasizes that the cost of the equipment has decreased somewhat, and its number is not calculated in single copies, that is, sold already in bulk. Starlink equipment can be bought in Russia for 85-150 thousand rubles ($ 986-1740).

If you make a wholesale purchase of 10 terminals, the price of one kit will be about 75 thousand rubles ($ 870). Sellers of "plates" Starlink in the Russian Federation claim that the connection is so reliable that he is not afraid of radio electronic struggle (EIT). They also say that the satellite Internet from Ilon Mask can be used by residents of Kaliningrad (partially) and Kamchatka allegedly because of the proximity of these areas to neutral waters.

One of the sellers noted that the dealers bring equipment to the Russian Federation with the US and the UAE. According to the source, which was served in February 2024 and wished to remain unnamed, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation used on the front of "Gazprom space systems" and "Tajettek". He noted that the connection given to Gazprom worked better and cost cheaper.

According to him, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation use Starlink, the military has been declared in private conversations with a source that the US company provides a normal Internet connection. The news site reminded that six months ago, Ilon Musk officially stated that Starlink is not active in the Russian Federation, and therefore the terminal sellers simply deceive customers. However, the Russians did not stop selling equipment for SpaceX satellite Internet.
