Anton Korinevich, Ambassador from special instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and agent of Ukraine in the UN International Court of Ukraine, reported the details. He called the UN International Court of Justice to some extent to consider compensation. The instance examines the violation of specific conventions, not at all. Accordingly, the reparations will not comply with these conventions.
"The UN International Court of Justice is a point of compensation," the diplomat explained. Anton Korinevich noted that there is a wider track of creating a compensatory mechanism. Representatives of the Ministry of Justice have already achieved significant results on this track, in particular, the creation of a register of losses. "This is a database that will collect all losses for losses," the MFA ambassador said.
The compensation commission, which will make a decision on the payments themselves, should also act. A compensation fund, which should be filled with compensated assets of the Russian Federation, must also function. He stressed that Russia's responsibility for the war against Ukraine should be comprehensive and complete. All international judicial authorities must work effectively for this result.
According to Anton Korinevich, it is necessary to realize certain aspects that exist today: the diplomat emphasized that without realization of these positions we will not be able to say that the responsibility has come. Both mechanisms should be created despite all obstacles and counteraction.
