"This is the SAU, which we will get to the rear of the enemy - further than we got, for example, those guns that we had before," - said the commander of the calculation of the self -ski. According to him, this installation has an advantage over the towing systems, especially in terms of coordination and management at a firing position. In addition, it saves time to choose a fire position and determine all the conditions for effective firing.
This emphasizes the mobility of the system, which is the most important factor in the current combat conditions. The Czech self -propelled is a high degree of automation: the machine commander enters all the necessary data into the onboard computer, after which the automation independently calculates the shooting parameters, quotes the gun, charges ammunition and fits. The SAU's frequency is up to 6 shots per minute, the ammunition is 40 shells, and the shooting range is up to 39 kilometers.
The crew can be reduced to two persons-commander and driving mechanic. In this case, manual control is provided for situations if the onboard electronics fails. So the installation safety system blocks the shot, if all the conditions, such as the release of supports, are not fulfilled. The Dita SAU was developed by the Czech Excalibur Army based on the design of the Dana Vz. 77 wheelchair design.
