On April 22, the journalist's father Viktor Roshchin received a letter from the Russian department, which confirms that his daughter is in Russia after detention. Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross do not have access to it. In Russia, it was first acknowledged that the Ukrainian journalist of "Public" Victoria Roshchyna is captured in the Russian Federation. It disappeared on August 3, 2023 in the captured territory.

About it reports the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NSFU) with reference to confirmation in a letter of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to the father of Victoria Vladimir Roshchina. "According to the available information, Roschina Victoria Vladimirovna, born on December 6, 1996, was detained and is currently in the territory of the Russian Federation," - said in a letter from the Russian military police. Vladimir Roshchin received a letter dated April 17 on April 22.

It stated that the journalist's father appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross. They confirmed that Victoria is captured, but it has no access to it. Earlier, Victoria's relatives have already asked the Occupation Prosecutor's Office of Mariupol. They assured that they had not made a case against her. Also, there was no answer to the letters to the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, the Investigative Committee, the Ombudsman.

The NSJU stated that they demanding immediate and unconditional release from the captivity of Roschina and other illegally captured journalists. It should be noted that at one time Victoria Roshchyna worked on the UA TV channel: The first, and in 2017 she became a journalist of "Public". She filmed plots and wrote articles from hot spots in the east and south of Ukraine all days of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
