Russian "peacekeepers" in Transnistria have new types of weapons - Chisinau

According to the Moldovan delegation, during the exercises, the Russian military used automatic small arms and UAVs that are not in service with the CCU of the Russian Federation. Chisinau requires consideration in connection with the conduct of Russian "Peacekeepers" of exercises on December 22, 2023 near the security zone. It is reported that members of the Moldavian delegation have signed a statement that disagreed with violation of the Basic CLC contracts.

The document states that during the exercises "peacekeepers" of the Russian Federation used automatic small arms "RPK" and UAV (such as Quadcopter), which are not listed in the arms of the VC MS MSF.

"The availability and use of these types of weapons and aircraft in the LCD of the Russian Federation indicates another fact of violation of the OKC protocols and the decisions of the DEC, namely the import into the safety zone of the new weapons of the VC of the Russian Federation, bypassing the Institute of Military Observers," - the statement reads. It is also argued that military commanders observed the training.

According to Chisinau, this happened without a proper decision of the United Military Command, which is a violation of the provisions on the command of the commandant in areas with increased security regime. "The Moldavian delegation asked to investigate these violations and develop new rules of exercise in order to make it impossible to make such misconduct of one of the military contingents of joint forces of peacekeeping," the Reintegration Bureau said.
