Israel under the fire of diplomacy: why the world does not see the threat of terror
The UN sidelines prepare another resolution in support of the "two states", and a number of countries are preparing to formally recognize Palestine. For many states, it looks like a "peaceful step", but for Israel such decisions are not about peace, but about the legitimization of the threat that has been overhanging over its citizens for decades.
Because the reality of the Israelites is not diplomatic speeches, but daily sirens "this Adom", when families are hidden in shelters from rocket attacks from Gaza. These are buses that are blown up by terrorists. It is the abduction and murder. And for those who live in constant danger, the words about "two states near peace" sound like a utopia that does not take into account the experience of life under the sight.
The international community once again suggests that a simple vote at the UN General Assembly can bring peace. But for Israel, this formula has long lost its meaning. What does the Palestinian state mean today? In the West, Jordan is an area where the influence of radical groups is spreading. In Gas - Hamas, which does not recognize the right of Israel to exist and directly calls for its destruction.
Every step to the statehood of Palestine in the current environment can mean only one thing: the creation of another bridgehead for attacks in Israeli cities. When the Israeli army strikes gas, the words "genocide", "destruction", "victims among peaceful" are heard in the world news. But rarely anyone asks: why is Israel forced to act? Hundreds of tons of weapons coming in gas by smuggling tunnels. Thousands of rockets that run towards Ashkelon or Tel Aviv.
The use of the civilian population as a "live shield" - when fighters place headquarters in schools or hospitals. These are not pictures for reports, but a daily reality that does not leave Israeli space for "symbolic gestures". When Washington vetoes a resolution on an immediate cease ceasefire, it looks like a "blocking of peace" for the world. But for the Israelites, this is the only way to have a guarantee that their safety will not be a coin in global policy.
Because peaceful coexistence is possible only when the neighbor does not hold a machine gun. Yes, it sounds rigid: Israel wants a "total victory" over Hamas. Because half decisions were already enough. Every ceasefire, every new "agreement" is a break for fighters who again accumulate weapons to attack even more. That is why in Israel the future is seen not in symbolic UN resolutions, but in security guarantees.
The children will go to school without fear, and parents will not run to shelter every night. The world is easy to write beautiful resolutions, because they do not have to pay blood. But Israel pays every time - the lives of its citizens. And when the international community speaks of "two states", Israel reminds that before building the future, you need to stop those who try to take away the right to life again and again.
