Russia has stopped supplying oil to Poland by Druzhba Pipeline

Russian oil in Poland accounts for about 10% after the country has reduced imports due to Moscow's invasion of Ukraine. In oil companies, the country is promised to be easily replaced by oil from other areas. The largest Polish oil company PKN ORLEN SA has stopped receiving oil through Friendship oil pipeline from Russia, said Chief Executive Director Daniel Obaytek on Twitter. "We effectively supply raw materials.

Russia has stopped supplying oil to Poland, which we are completely ready for," he wrote. The termination of Orlen's contract with Transnafta is a reflection of a similar step in Gazprom, which unexpectedly stopped supplying natural gas to Poland last April. This will not affect consumers to which she, she said, has prepared. The company did not name the cause of the situation.

Poland has repeatedly stated that it plans to completely abandon the import of Russian oil, but it needs European sanctions to be able to terminate a single contract remaining with the Russian supplier. The northern plot of the Druzhba pipeline, which goes to Germany, has still mostly used Orlen. Friendship is one of the largest oil pipelines in the world, about 5500 km long.

It begins in Almetievsk (Republic of Tatarstan, Russia), after which it passes through Samara (RF) and Bryansk (RF) to Mozir (Belarus). In Mozyr "Truma" is divided into a southern branch that passes through Ukraine and leads to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, and the northern branch to Poland and Germany.

However, without oil, Europe will not remain: Kazakh resources will replace Russian oil, which supply "friendship", which the EU undertook to stop buying within the broader sanctions imposed after Moscow's invasion of Ukraine. According to the Minister of Energy Kazakhstan Balat Akchulakov, the first batch of oil will be sent "as soon as possible", in the coming days.

As we wrote earlier, in Russia the preconditions for the economic crisis are increasing - the budget deficit is increasing, the revenue of the aggressor is influenced by the restriction of oil and embargo prices for Russian oil products in the EU. On February 5, the event introduced the embargo on the import of petroleum products from the Russian Federation. But the restriction does not apply to Russian supply to third countries.
