In the Russian Federation, the T-90 tank was restored in four months: what it testifies to

Analysts noted that the very fact of recovery of the machine, which suffered 26 damage to Droam-Kamikadze, indicates an acute shortage of this technique in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Russian propaganda resources claim that "Uralvagonzavod" (UVZ) in four weeks was able to restore the tank T-90m "breakthrough", which was badly damaged in battle.

According to them, the tank was fired by 26 drones-Kamikadze by Ukrainian forces, but the crew was allegedly survived, despite heavy damage. In this regard, Defense Express reviewers spoke about current problems in the field of repair of Russian military equipment, which participates in hostilities in Ukraine. The authors of the material emphasize a few key points that doubt the efficiency and extent of recovery.

First, the repair of the machine with such injuries in such a short time raises the question: such work is usually performed by field repair crews, not the leading plant of the Russian armored industry. This clearly demonstrates possible problems with the production capacity of the plant. Secondly, the very fact that the Russian MIC, instead of using this tank, as a source of spare parts, decided to restore it, also indicates a possible shortage of new machines.

This may indicate insufficient production of tanks to cover the real needs of the Russian army. Analysts also noted that data on the number of tanks manufactured can cover not only the production of new machines, but also restore, modernization, as well as the reconciliation of equipment. For example, it is officially stated that in 2023 the Russian MIC was releasing 2100 tanks, and plans for 2024 and 2025 were 1500 tanks annually.

However, the Swedish Research Institute Foi evaluates the real capabilities of the Russian MIC in 520 tanks annually, taking into account both new machines and restored and modernized. Thus, the restoration of the T-90m "breakthrough" tank damaged to the condition of the "coffin" can be an illustration of how statistics for the production of tanks in Russia can be distorted and it may not correspond to reality.
