"Could not come alone": Putin accused Boris Johnson and USA of the war in Ukraine

The President of the Russian Federation said that the then Prime Minister of Great Britain came to Kiev after meeting Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul. The British politician allegedly refused Washington to sign an agreement with Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the war allegedly ended in 2022 if Ukraine did not listen to the then Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson during the talks and would sign an agreement with Moscow.

The head of the Kremlin told this in an interview with propagandist Pavel Zarubin. "Why did the event take this position? I mean the Anglo-Saxon world, because Mr. Johnson could not come on his own, without consultation with Washington. He outlined the position that we needed to fight with Russia to the victorious end and to inflict a strategic end defeat. Apparently, they were counting on this result, "Putin said.

According to the President of the Russian Federation, the head of the faction in the Verkhovna Rada David Arahamia, who in 2022 headed the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations, allegedly said that the decision not to sign a treaty with Moscow was made at the request of Johnson. "He (David Arahamia) said that if we went to full implementation of those agreements that arose in Istanbul, the war would have stopped a year and a half ago," the President of the Russian Federation said.

In November 2023, David Arahamia in an interview with journalist Natalia Mosaychuk stated that in the spring of 2022 the Russian delegation suggested to finish the war if Ukraine took neutrality and refuse to join NATO. Moscow to the last hoped that he could "put" Kiev before signing such an agreement. However, the Ukrainian side did not accept it for two reasons: "It could only be done if there are security guarantees.

We could not sign something, leave, everyone would exhale there, and then they would go more prepared," Arahamia said. He also mentioned Boris Johnson. The British Prime Minister then came to Kiev and said, "We will not sign anything with them at all - and let's just fight. " We will remind that in December 2023 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov stated that Ukraine and the West do not want to negotiate with Russia.

The Russian diplomat stated that in 2022, agreements were reached between Russia and Ukraine, but allegedly Prime Minister of Great Britain, Johnson ordered Kiev to fight further. After that, Boris Johnson, who ceased to be the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, denied the Kremlin's statements about the breakdown of peaceful negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
