Iran's Marine Ambitions: Quiri Armed Sabalan 12 Winged Rockets
Previously, the Sabalan destroyer, with a weight of 1500 tons, was equipped with only four winged Qader and Qadir missiles. But what rockets will be equipped with the old Iranian destroyer is not specified, but the authors of the publication noted that in July the Iran's Navy received a new anti -ship winged rocket (PKR) Abu Mahdi.
According to the Iranian military, the new PKR has "advanced characteristics", in particular the ability to withstand the means of the IEC, to evade radar systems and to lay optimal flight trajectories with artificial intelligence. According to Zona Militar observers, there are currently various anti -ship winged rockets with a range of 10 to 1000 km in service with the Corps of the Islamic Revolution (Quir).
These missiles have been developed and produced by the Ministry of Defense and are able to impress different goals in naval circumstances. In the context of modernization of Sabalan destroyer, Iran seeks to expand the capabilities of his naval forces.
In particular, during the ceremony on the anniversary of the start of the war with Iraq, Iran stressed that in the near future the country's Navy will be adopted by a new destroyer of domestic development, equipped with much more modern and complex systems, compared to already represented by warships. According to him, the domestic military ship, which was called Deylaman, will be part of the Navy of Iran in the near future. In addition, Iran's Navy is planning to create a base in Antarctica.
