"Not only in Russia, but in general": Ukraine was deprived of Maxar satellite images - the media
On March 7, the Militarian, citing several unnamed users, reported that the American Aerospace Company Maxar Technologies disabled Ukraine with access to its satellite images. Users received an official message from the Maxar administration that the shutdown was "on an administrative request". However, it is noted that the actual reason was the ban on the provision of intelligence.
"That is, the Presidential Administration Donald Trump has banned the provision of US companies and commercial services through the State Department for Ukraine. This applies to both government users and private," the publication stressed. In particular, blocking access to the data was reported in the Cyberbos community. "The United States also closed satellite intelligence, not only in Russia, but in general," analysts said. The publication does not specify what services are discussed.
But in the comments, the channel administrator responded to the question of one of the users about whether access to Maxar's photos was blocked. "Unfortunately, we cannot give more details. We have recalled access to the main service," he wrote.
The media explained that Maxar Technologies is an American aerospace company and one of the main suppliers of commercial satellite images for Ukraine on the movement of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the effects of strikes on objects in the Russian Federation and temporarily occupied territories. Photos from this service were also used by the world's media to illustrate and analyze hostilities.
We will remind, on The Guardian on March 6 reported that after France, the United Kingdom declared its intentions to continue to assist the Armed Forces with providing intelligence information. Politico informed that 80% of intelligence for Ukraine came from allies, mainly from the United States.
