"Do not carry nuclear weapons": Cuba confirmed by Russia's departure warships to the region
The visit of military Russian ships to the "Freedom Island" complies with international rules, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba said. This corresponds to historical friendly relations between Hawan and Moscow. Four Russian warships will arrive at the Havana port next week. At the same time, they do not carry nuclear weapons and do not pose a threat to the region, Reuters writes.
"This visit corresponds to historical friendly relations between Cuba and the Russian Federation and strictly complies with international rules," the agency quotes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba. Also, the statement of the foreign policy state states that none of the ships carries nuclear weapons, so their parking is no threat to the region.
It should be noted that the statement of the Cuban side was made after the US official representative reported that the Russian Federation was planning to send warships to the Caribbean region for conducting naval exercises, including allies in Cuba and Venezuela. Recall that in September 2023, 17 people involved in trafficking in human beings in favor of Russia were arrested in Cuba.
