"Russian troops have recently advanced to East Toretsk and continued offensive operations in the area on September 8," the message reads. According to the Russian military, the Ukrainian military continued the counterattack in New York and advanced to the center of the settlement during September 7. The ISW noted that they observed geolocation, on which Ukrainians recently counterattacked in the northwest of New York and held positions in the village. However, analysts emphasized that they have not yet found a visual confirmation that the defense forces have recently restored some positions in New York.
The Armed Forces General Staff said that during September 8, with the support of aviation, the Russians tried to wake up Ukrainian defense in the Toretsky direction. So, during the day the enemy attacked the positions of the Armed Forces near the North, Iron, New York, Toretsk, Neplipivka and Friendship. In turn, the Ukrainian military repelled 13 hostile storms.
