Everyone unites the realization that there is an opportunity to achieve at least ceasefire, and it all depends on the correct pressure on Russia - the President's appeal
Today again murder, today again Russian shelling. More than a hundred shock drones were on this day against us, against Ukraine, during the day - bombing, intense storms on the front, again air anxiety in our cities, our communities. I will give only one of the Russian crimes of war for today. In Kherson, a 13-year-old guy was injured in a very conscious discharge from the Russian drone. He is assisted.
That is, Russian hunting for civilians in Kherson continues, and this is a conscious destruction of life. Orders were not given to the Russian army. We talk to partners for the sake of real steps. More than a dozen conversations were with leaders and heads of government. Today-Prime Minister of Poland, President of Finland, President of Latvia, Czech Prime Minister. I just spoke with President of South Africa. Diplomacy will also be devoted to the coming days.
Security advisers said yesterday, today they have a continuation of work. Andriy Yermak coordinates leaders' advisers. Foreign Minister works with colleagues in Europe. We are constantly in communication with the American side, and for our part, our partners speak with the United States of America. Everyone combines the realization that it is possible to achieve at least ceasefire, and it all depends on the correct pressure on Russia.
It is there that the decision should be made that the war they started, they should finish. Russia does not count with people's losses. They block all information about their losses. But they cannot block objective reality - what the Russian economy feels, how Russian enterprises stop, how Russian logistics is tolerated. Sanctions can work exactly as we need. I want to thank everyone in the world today who helps us - helps the war.
Today, I have agreed some of our new sanction packages, Ukrainian packages - will soon be appropriate decisions. I held a special meeting with the government officials and the office team on our European work, with partners in the European Union and the European countries outside the European Union. A few fundamental things.
I would like to thank Polish Prime Minister Tusk, I thank the Czech Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, thank Latvia and all Baltic States, North Europe countries, all in Europe, who supports the need for the European Union to be strong and be honest about my obligations. We need to strengthen joint defense work. Each of our joint European defense initiative has to work one hundred percent.
Everything that helps joint security, common economic growth, common interests - everything in common must work. In particular, integration should work - all the processes that make Europe more united. We have done a lot in Ukraine to, in particular, Moldova beside us on the European way. We help in stabilization within Moldova so that Russian intervention does not work. We help the stable work of Moldova's energy. At one time, we insisted that Moldova deserves to obtain a candidate status.
And our position is now also based on justice, on real merit. Ukraine has done everything to open the first cluster in negotiations about accession to the European Union. This is recognized by Europe. Therefore, any artificial pauses, any artificial separations will only hit Europe. Ukraine, together with Moldova, must move in the talk process. I thank all the leaders, all countries, the European Union for supporting us in this, for supporting the rules in Europe.
