Air Policing: Poland puts on its FA-50 aircraft new weapons

FA-50 training and combat aircraft, armed with AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles, will be able to carry out tasks for aircraft surveillance. Poland has an F-16 fighter, but seeks to strengthen air defense using FA-50 training and combat aircraft. To this end, these AIM-9 rockets are equipped for the Polish Air Force in various modifications in order to fully meet the needs of the Air Force, including the tasks for the protection of airspace.

This was stated 16, older versions of these missiles are purchased. According to the Polish official, with these FA-50 missiles will be able to perform the tasks of observing airspace-Air Policing. Polak also recalled that the FA-50PL aircraft, which has, in particular, Phantom Strike with active electronic scanning, will be adapted from the very beginning to use AIM-9x missiles already available in the Air Force.

In addition, the current FA-50GF aircraft to the FA-50PL configuration is planned to be adapted. Moreover, the Polish FA-50 is now able to carry some weapons of the class "Air-Earth", similar to that it is already and used on F-16 fighters. Experts on this regard noted that the FA-50 training and combat planes are largely compatible with the F-16, so part of their main weapons is interchangeable.
