According to Ukrainian military expert Alexander Kovalenko, almost rare shells that have been in warehouses for over 80 years can shoot and harm. Russian Telegram channels publish photos of artillery shots of Soviet-made, which the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation put on the front in Ukraine. In particular, one of the channels on June 29 posted a photo of shells in 1939. The report states that shells and charges to them are Soviet production.

According to the so -called "military", Russian soldiers were scared to shoot them. Ukrainian military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko noted that despite the year of release, these shells can properly fulfill their purpose. As a result of hostile shelling, two people were killed, two more people were taken to a hospital with moderate injuries. Also on June 29, the commander of the operational-strategic group of Tavriya troops, Alexander Tarnavsky, reported that Ukrainian defenders destroyed 19 units of military equipment of Russian invaders. On the same day, the presenter of the 3rd separate assault brigade, Alexander Borodin, spoke about heavy fights in the Bakhmut direction.
