Charity and volunteering as part of corporate culture. What initiatives is implemented by Mondis Ukraine during the war
For 30 years, Mondis Ukraine has been one of the leading enterprises of the food sector of Ukraine, large taxpayers, exporters and investors in the economy of Ukraine. And charity and volunteering are an integral part of the company's DNA and part of corporate culture. Since the beginning of a full -scale Russian invasion, local communities where Mondis Ukraine work has been in the area of active fighting and occupation.
In particular, as a result of Russian shelling in the spring of 2022, both factories of the company in Kyiv and Sumy region have suffered significant destruction. Particularly injured the confectionery factory of Mondis Ukraine in Trostyanets, where a biscuit shop was destroyed. Despite these losses and destruction, the company did not stop its charitable initiatives, but on the contrary significantly scale and expanded them.
In her assistance, Montaelis communities have concentrated efforts on supporting medical institutions, schools and kindergartens, children from vulnerable social categories, as well as providing food assistance. The company's social programs are diverse and always aimed at providing the most necessary assistance to communities. In total, since 2022, together with the Global Fund Mondelēz International, the company has already sent more than UAH 480 million to support Ukraine.
Access to timely and quality medical services is critically important in a full -scale war. That is why supporting Ukrainian health care institutions, assistance in restoring their work after the de -occupation and hostile shelling and providing them with modern medical equipment is a priority area of charitable initiatives of the company. Since 2022, the company, together with partners with BF "Blagomay", has helped 35 medical institutions in 9 regions of Ukraine.
The hospitals received more than 300 units of modern medical equipment, which helped improve access to medical services for more than 500,000 residents of local communities and IDPs. In particular, in 2024, the company, together with the Blagomai Charitable Foundation, launched a "courageous spirit" project. This large -scale initiative is aimed at creating modern rehabilitation departments for adults and children who need to recover from severe injuries and surgery.
The project covers hospitals, rehabilitation centers, educational institutions and aimed at purchasing rehabilitation equipment and training of specialists. According to Yaroslav Lyakhovich, the head of the corporate affairs department and connections with the authorities of the Montalis Ukraine, one of the key values of the "courageous spirit" project is attention to small communities, because their needs are also considerable.
Patients need quality and long -term rehabilitation, and such assistance should be available not only in large and well -known centers, but also at the local level.
Thanks to the cooperation of the company with partners in the public sector and local communities, new rehabilitation departments have already been created within the framework of the Project "Courageous Spirit" or the equipment of existing departments in 11 medical institutions located in local communities of Kyiv, Sumy, and in the city of Dnipro has been significantly improved.
"The peculiarity of this project was that thanks to this support, a modern rehabilitation department was created at the University Clinic of the National Medical University named after OO Bogomolets, where, in addition to patient rehabilitation, it will also be a training of future rehabilitation specialists," Kira Syrotenko said. Access to education, especially during the war, is an investment in the future of children and the whole country.
Therefore, "Montalis Ukraine" does not ignore the educational direction that has a significant impact in society. In particular, the company helped to rebuild and repair 3 kindergartens in Sumy and Kyiv region. 5 protective shelters for children were built in the schools and kindergartens of these communities. The company also regularly supports educational initiatives for Ukrainian children and adolescents.
Such as the Girl Power Ukraine 'educational project for girls from unprotected people of the Blagomay Charitable Foundation. Among the important charitable initiatives of Mondis is helping children in social institutions: supporting children from vulnerable social groups, children deprived of parental care, children in rehabilitation centers, orphanages, family -type homes.
For this assistance, the company, together with the Blagomai Charitable Foundation, launched a project for childhood protection. As part of the project, philanthropists regularly provide the necessary assistance: clothing, shoes, heaters, generators, furniture, sports and school supplies for children.
According to philanthropists, since 2022, more than 30,000 children out of 133 social institutions in 18 regions of Ukraine received assistance in the framework of the Project "Childhood Protection". Another initiative of the company was a joint project with the Charitable Organization of the KMBF "Fudbenk" to create minibliotes with contemporary literature for children living in social institutions or attending them.
The project is focused on children who have become internally displaced, have disabilities or are in difficult life circumstances. "Read and Dreams" is a project that emerged from understanding: children who have survived the war need not only things but also space for recovery. We create libraries where books become a source of knowledge, support and new dreams.
Everything is thought out to the details - from themed collections to a comfortable atmosphere, where you can read, communicate and just be near those who understand. Philanthropists have already installed more "Our colleagues have been volunteering for many years, participating in various events in their communities. Since the beginning of a full -scale invasion, we have also seen a great request for corporate volunteer measures. People seek to help. So, together with the team, we managed to structure corporate volunteer events and focus on what has the biggest response.
