Foreign journalists began to receive "invitations" from Russians to visit Pokrovsk and Kupyansk: what are they talking about

Share: Western media journalists began to receive "invitations" from the Russians, in which they urge them to visit Pokrovsk and Kupyansk, where the fighting is going on, to see the situation "on the ground first hand". Refusal of visits is called "a manifestation of cowardice" by the Russians. Russian propagandists promise to provide Western media correspondents with a "safe corridor" in the city for 5-6 hours.

This was reported by Ukrainian military correspondent Andrii Tsaplienko in his Telegram channel. Julian Röpke, a journalist of the German BILD channel, showed on his page on the X network a letter from the Russians inviting him to Pokrovsk and Kupyansk.

In the letter, the Russians refer to the invitation of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and the propagandists called Pokrovsk Krasnoarmiisk - this is the old name of the city, which was renamed by the Ukrainian authorities in May 2016. The German journalist reacted ironically to the invitation from the Russians, wishing them to "have a nice time". "Russian state television invites me to Pokrovsk. I don't think so.

But, okay! I wish you a pleasant time, pro-Kremlin mouthpieces," Ryopke commented on the letter. The letter received by the BILD correspondent is signed as from the producer of the First Channel on Russian television. After some time, Julian Röpke published a post in which he said that the Russian state radio declared him a "coward" because of his refusal to go to Pokrovsk.

"Russian state radio claims that my refusal to go to Pokrovsk together with the Russian army, which kills and rapes, and the regime, which a few years ago declared me an enemy of the state, is a manifestation of 'cowardice'. If it wasn't so serious. . . ", the journalist commented. It is worth noting that on October 30, the Ministry of Defense of Russia announced that it allegedly received an order from the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, to provide passage for journalists.

The Russians declared their readiness to stop hostilities for 5-6 hours in some areas of the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. It was claimed that Putin allegedly gave an order to ensure "unimpeded passage" for foreign journalists, including Ukrainian ones. In particular, it was about providing transportation to the cities of Pokrovsk, Myrnograd, and Kupyansk. We will remind, on October 31, "Suspilne" reported that special units of the GUR began a complex amphibious operation in Pokrovsk.
