President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and India Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for the first time since the beginning of the war, met in the sidelines of the G7 Summit, which takes place in Japan. This information was revealed by the President's office.

During the meeting, Zelensky informed fashion about the urgent humanitarian needs of Ukraine, emphasizing the need for mobile hospitals and demining operations. He also urged fashion to become a participant in the peace process. Zelensky spoke about the difficult conditions caused by the war: deported children, replaced territories, destroyed cities and broken lives form a rather gloomy landscape.

In gratitude, Zelensky emphasized the support of India of Ukraine's territorial integrity and providing humanitarian aid. Modi reciprocated, expressing gratitude for the help of India, especially during the evacuation of Indian students from Ukraine. Although India took a neutral position, without condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine and not supporting Moscow, it refrain from recognizing the illegal annexation of Russia by the occupied territories of Ukraine.
