The blue-yellow flag, as well as the colors of today's illustration, symbolizes the open sky over the endless wheat fields and the indomitability of the spirit of the people, the love of freedom and their land, the authors of the publication noted. The illustration was worked by Kiev artist Polina Doroshenko.

According to Google representatives on the official page, the holiday is intended to pay tribute to the indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people, to honor the memory of all who died while defending their country. This dood is also reminiscent of those who are now fighting in Ukraine. "On this day in 1991, Ukraine gained its independence and went out into the world arena as a sovereign state," the search giant was reminded.
