October 5 - Territorial Defense Day: as separate volunteer battalions turned into the army
What is the history of the TRI units and how do they stop the invasion of the Russian Federation? Territorial Defense Day in Ukraine was introduced in the fall of 2020, five years before the full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation. Focus decided to talk about the main milestones of the development of the terroboron and the fighting in which its units participated.
The first Terrobronivtsi appeared in Ukraine not three years ago - not in February 2022, when a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation began. And not when President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky introduced celebrations on September 30, 2020. The first detachments of territorial defense volunteers appeared in the first months of 2014, when 11 years ago the Kremlin's hybrid war against Ukrainians began.
In March-May 2014, the Hybrid Army of the Russian Federation began to fight in the territory of Ukrainian Donbass and Crimea. It was then that the battalions of volunteers appeared in Ukraine, who were the first to define the eastern and central regions. By May 2014, 32 battalions were formed. Subsequently, the battalions of Terroborons became part of the Land Forces and performed combat tasks in the territory of temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
A month and a half before the full -scale war, on January 1, 2022, in Ukraine created forces of territorial defense and they became a separate type of armed forces. On October 3, the Troy Commander met with the families of the soldiers - thanked his wives for his courage and endurance and apologized to the fact that not all fighters were returning from the battlefield. In the first days of the invasion in 2022, the Ukrainians went to the Tercenters of the staff and some of them mobilized to the ranks of the forces of terroboron.
About 110,000 citizens were taken into their hands, who together with other units of the Armed Forces were the first to join the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odessa regions. The combat brigades have changed over time and, in addition to infantry, there are mechanized groups, mortars and aerobes, prepare sappers, teach commanders and chaplains.
Some of the TRO units have received another task: they protect infrastructure objects, the mobile fire destroy the Drones-Kamikadze "Shakhi" Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, monitor safety and order in the rear. Meanwhile, the command reformed the Armed Forces in 2022-25. At first, the troops were allowed to send to different directions, regardless of the region in which they were formed.
From 2024 the transition of the Armed Forces to the Corps System began, and the Troy brigades became part of the buildings. The battle in the lilac park in Kherson took place on March 1, 2022, told on the portal of the forces of Terroboron in the project "Great Battle". About 40 fighters 192 Troy brigades met Russian invaders in the city center.
All weapons of volunteers - automatic machines and "Molotov cocktails", which kept almost a day against armored vehicles and fully equipment of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. On March 2, the Kherson saw the bodies of the dead in the middle of the trees: in that place later created a memorial to the fighters of the Kherson Terroboron. Fighting in Krynki on the Left Bank of the Dnieper lasted from October 2023 to June 2024.
Several SCO and GUR units participated in the Defense Forces, 124 and 126 TRI brigades. The Ukrainians tried to fix themselves in the Krynki, receiving weapons and drones of weapons, water, food. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for nine months tried to displace Ukrainians - used armored vehicles, RSZV, aviation, UAV. The soldiers retreated from the position in the summer of 2024, when the crusts and the surrounding area were erased by constant shelling of the Russians.
